Abdul Rafique leads the AV Operations/Events strategy for London/EMEA/APAC AV services for Bloomberg, overseeing the software, technology, and hardware that the company’s employees across EMEA/APAC interact with daily. He has been a member of this team since it was first formed in 2013 with the goal of bringing new standards and improving the employee and guest experience across the company’s offices and meeting rooms around the globe. Bloomberg’s Global AV team was first recognised in 2016 as the 'AV Service Team of the Year' and has won several subsequent AV Awards. Abdul joined Bloomberg in 2001 as a Broadcast Operator, supporting operational needs for Bloomberg Television, including technical direction, cameras, lighting, video mixing, audio mixing, and graphics. Three years later, he became a coordinator for Bloomberg TV Spain. In 2009, he took the opportunity to manage Bloomberg’s Broadcast MCR (Master Control Room), managing transmissions, operations, and other resources. Abdul holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Media Communications Systems from City University in London.
